TOTTENHAM REACH VERBAL AGREEMENT FOR MATEUS FERNANDES
Tottenham Hotspur have come to a verbal agreement with West Ham over the transfer of Mateus Fernandes, reports Spurs Journo and szyexcl.
The midfielder has been on Spurs radar all summer, accompanied by Real Madrid, PSG and most notably Manchester United, who have posed the biggest threat to a possible transfer to North London.
West Ham, who were relegated on the final day of the 2025/26 Premier League season have remained persistent on their £85m valuation of the 21-year-old however early reports indicate that Tottenham are more than willing to bid in the region of their asking price.
Manchester United have also remained firmly interested in signing Fernandes but pose financial troubles and are unwilling to match Tottenham's offer, according to various news outlets.
The Portuguese youngster featured 36 times for the Hammers last season. Despite being relegated, Fernandes remained a consistent positive in what was a poor season overall for his club. Fernandes registered 3 goals and 4 assists in the league whilst highlighting his ability to control games with his wide range of passing, something Spurs have been missing for multiple seasons.
Despite footballs biggest journalists David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano not reporting that a deal has been agreed, Spurs fans should remain optimistic that two of the fanbases most credible 'In the knows' have provided an update.
