SPURS CONFIRM DEPARTURE OF BRIGHT TALENT
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Luka Vuskovic has left the club and will join Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 19-year-old had never featured in a competitive fixture for Spurs, having spent multiple seasons on loan in Croatia, Belgium and most recently Germany.
Initially signed in 2023 for £12 million, Brighton agreed a deal with Tottenham earlier this week for a fee that could potentially rise to £50 million after add-ons. Tottenham also received matching rights to any future bids as well as a 20% sell-on clause.
In a statement posted on social media, Vuskovic said: ''This is a huge step in my career and I can't wait to get started, meet my teammates and give everything for this club and its' amazing supporters.''
The transfer of Vuskovic to Brighton puts him as the 3rd most expensive departure in Spurs' history, behind only Gareth Bale and Harry Kane according to Transfermarkt.
So what do you think, Spurs fans? Is this great business considering he's never played a game for Tottenham and wanted to leave? Or is it a huge opportunity missed at having a potentially world class centre back? Let us know in the comments or on our X page, The Lilywhite Times.
